The Soap Factory in Minneapolis used its awarded Warhol Initiative Fund grant in a variety of areas. The funds allowed for the organization to install an emergency lighting system. This system enabled the Soap Factory to retain a certificate of occupancy and rental hall license for the future of the gallery space. The funds were also used to commission and install neon signage using an internal method which reduced the need for licensing and easing repair. The Soap Factory was also able to purchase several heaters to enable the programming of installations and events over the winter season. In addition to these infrastructural improvements, the remainder of the funds were used to retain a Development Consultant, Peter Brown. Mr. Brown has aided the organization in building a three phase strategic development plan to begin summer of 2013.
