Buffalo, NY-based Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, allocated most of their Warhol Initiative Fund Grant to build a cash reserve of working capital. The aim of this reserve is to act as a bridge during periods of delayed state funding. Part of the remainder of the funds went towards technology upgrades related to equipment necessary for sound quality of film and video projection; media artists’ productions; program documentation; digitizing, uploading and hosting enriched website content; and in-house design and office work. Finally, the balance of the grant was used to cover the part-time salary of a technical director. The technical director’s role is to establish a digital archive that is specific to the storage of digitized materials.
