Salina Art Center allocated its awarded Warhol Initiative Grant to replenish the organization‘s building fund, a restricted cash reserve dedicated to general maintenance and improvements to land, equipment, and furnishings of the Art Center Galleries / Education Wing, Warehouse and Cinema. The support of the Initiative Fund supplied the building fund with a needed cushion for routine upkeep and improvements. The granted funds also enabled the Art Center to focus additional resources toward, and move forward with, plans to remodel the existing ARTery (The Art Center’s interactive arts lab in the Education Wing) including the creation of a media lab, thus expanding programming for artists and community members. The operational support helped the organization’s goal to focus on increasing opportunities for patrons, while adding financial relief through creating stability within its building fund.
